This web site is where I host a documentation project I once wrote with
another graduate student, for the Smart information research system.
This host name is kept only as a service, and for as long as the website receives hits.
So far the website averaged
about 1 hit per day for the past two years so I intend to keep it online for a while.
The changes to the IP address for this machine take a while to propagate on the Internet,
so the donalde.dhs.org address can be down for half a day every now and then. I have no
control over this, and is part of the terms of service with dhs.org. The other web sites
on this machine are not affected by this limitation.

If you don't know Smart, have a Unix machine available
and have interest in information research, I really recommend you try it. It has
a bit of a learning curve, but pays off well: it implements all the basic and not-so-basic
operations like word parsing, stemming, indexing, and provides a very good platform for
information research.
This web site is hosted on our family's server box.
